Panther Tots

Panther Tots

Just what are Panther Tots?

Tonight I was part of a program for head start children and their parents.

They came to a local elementary school, Kathryn Winn,
in Carrollton, KY and did crafts, listened to stories, and got a free book.

I taught how to make a Halloween card.

Elle and Cora and Grandma Betty working on a Halloween card.
Elle's painted in River Run Gallery many times.

Lily is also another painter from the gallery.
Her brothers also came by to make a card.

Some of the other opportunities for families to
learn fun things.

A very young man who created his own card.

Brother and sisters creating Halloween cards.

Lots of concentration as this young artist
creates a card.

This little one was all in as she colored, stamped and stickered her card.
A young man creating his card.

And then these two stopped by to
create their cards.

This young lady had several helpers.

Leslie from the library
had a very hungry caterpillar.

Lots of fun and creativity went into tonights program.
Thanks to Leah for inviting me to attend
and teach some great kiddos how to make cards.

Don't forget to stop by River Run Gallery,
449 Main St.,
Carrollton, KY
Friday, Oct., 23, 5-8 p.m.

Happy Anniversary

We Made It!

We Made It A Whole Year!

It's been a crazy wonderful year
and I hope you've enjoyed the journey with me.

This is where we started a year ago.

We started off with a party.

And gave away some art

Over the past year we have seen some fabulous jewelry,
handcrafted with you in mind
at affordable prices.

We've seen some super fiber art come in.
Check out these beautiful hand dyed silk chiffon scarves.

We've had lots of kids in art camps!

We've welcomed Jeremy Cobb
 as our new drawing instructor.

And today we welcome new photographic artist Kristen Sherrard.

I'd like to welcome you in the gallery as well.

Stop in and sign up to win a 5" x 7" painting
of a rooster.

Hope to see you in RiverRun Galllery real soon.

No Guts - No Glory

No Guts - No Glory

Student art has been coming into River Run Gallery all week.

Students that have painted in the gallery are stepping up,
taking that great leap of faith,
getting their brave one
and several other sayings I won't mention
and are ready to raise some money for a local charity.

It is one thing to come to a class with a few people you may or may not know,
and paint and show them,
but it's entirely different to walk your art into a gallery and hang it on the wall.

It is: unnerving,
scary
terrifying,
make ya sick at your stomach nervous

But they did it to help raise money.

We are raising funds for Carroll County Animal Support (CCAS)
a local support group here in the county that takes care of animals as they try to find homes for dogs and cats,
pays vet bills for some animals
offer snip clinics,
and buy food.
They need lots of pet food.

So there you have it folks!
You're invited to our opening,
Thursday, March 12, 6-8 p.m.
to vote for your favorite artist or art hanging in the gallery.

You vote by putting your cold hard cash in a cup with the corresponding number with your favorite painting.

All the money goes to CCAS and the highest money raisers in the adult and the childrens categories will each receive 5 tubes of acrylic paint.
Second place winners will each receive a gift certificate for a free class.

You don't want to miss this gala event
Benny's Barkery will be here giving away samples and information of his soon to be world famous dog biscuits,

and I'm sure there will be something given away,

Cause I just can't help myself.

Please join us!

You Know I'm Afraid of Dogs But. . .

Art Show Benefit

I want to offer an opportunity for my art students to show off their art in an art show environment
AND
benefit the animals in Carroll County.

If you've painted a painting in River Run Gallery, adults and kids, and would like to show off your art, I'm having a student art show, with an opening reception, Thursday March 12 from 6-8 p.m.

All art must be in the gallery with your name and phone number on the back by Thursday, March 5 by 4 p.m.
I can take the first 50 people who get their art to me.

Your art will be hung in the gallery until Saturday, April 4.
The public will select the winner by voting with cold hard cash, (pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters).
Each painting will be designated a number and will have a cup with the corresponding number for people to vote for.

Final day of the show is Saturday, April 4 and all art must be picked up Wednesday until 6 p.m.

Here's the DOG part.

All the money will be donated to Carroll County Animal Support (CCAS).

The winner of each category, Adults and Children, will receive 5 tubes of acrylic paint.
Second place winners of each category will receive a gift certificate for a free painting lesson.

This is a unique opportunity for all student artists and hopefully you'll want to participate, either by entering your art or by judging with your cash to support CCAS.

Here's a flier for the event.
