Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

We Have A Winner

This was the painting I was giving away in August.
And finally,
Leah contacted me within 24 hours
and claimed her painting.
Leah works in the Carroll County Public School System
and her daughter Elle has painted in River Run Gallery
many times.
Here's the rules for my monthly painting giveaway.
On the blog you're reading this on,
there is a green button to the right near the top.
It says, Subscribe Here, or something like that.
It will ask for your first name and your email.
Then you're done.
You are entered.
Then at the end of the month I'll draw out a name of those that have subscribed and I'll email you to tell you you have 24 hours to contact me and then you can either pick up your painting,
or I'll send it to you.
I always post on facebook that I've drawn out a name
and you should go check your email if you've signed up on my blog.
Here's my September painting I'm giving away.
It's a 6" x 6" water mixable oil and it was done with a palette knife.
So go sign up if you haven't already.

Learning to Create

Learning to Create Art
In A Fun Environment!

We've probably all been there!

In school, social group, or class
and someone says something critical
about what you just created.

You are CRUSHED!

Maybe it wasn't intentional.
Maybe they misunderstood your creation.
Maybe they were having a bad day.
Maybe they are blind.

Still, you are crushed.

How do you get past it?

Being a creative person opens lots of doors of:
fear
negativity
second guessing
and pain,

But it also opens doors of
Joy
Love
Exhiliration
Accomplishment!

Learning to accept your work, your abilities, your linitations and your accomplishments gracefully are all a part of a creative life.

River Run Gallery Fun Art Studio
Is home to
Four displaying artists
Two teaching artists
And many student artists.

We try to put the emphasis on fun,
In the art we create and the art we teach.

Remember how your words may affect an artist the next time you’re at an art show and say something like:
I can do better than that!
I can make that at home!
You better go back to art school!
Why is your price so high!
(Yes I’ve heard every single one of those things)

Encourage your children,
Your co-workers,
Your friends and family,
In every creative endeavor.
That doesn’t mean giving them false praise or applause,
But be gentle and kind and encouraging.

People who are creative can’t help but be creative!
It’s in their make up!
They are hard wired to create.

Maybe they haven’t found that perfect medium yet.
Maybe you can help them find it.

As you create,

let the love of creation come through into
your project.

People will see and feel and love your spirit
as you create and share and enjoy.

Tonsils and Paint Brushes

Sometimes Girls Just Need to Paint

One of these twins is not like the other,
One of these fun ladies had her tonsils out

and

it's been a crazy ride.

To help (pink bow) Jayden feel better, Mom thought a Saturday morning painting spree might be the ticket.

Judge for yourself!

We are just getting started with our butterflies.

You can see the concentration going on
as they paint their butterflies to match their own personalities.

Taylor on the left, loves yellow as you can see by her butterfly and her hair bow.
And Jayden on the right, loves pink.
Two of her wings are pink, but they don't show up as well on here as they did in person.

Each young lady took control of her own painting and decorated it the way they wanted.

Lots of applause please.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sign up to receive my blog in your inbox because I'm giving away this painting at the end of the month to one of my subscribers.

Mountain Marsh

$300 + shipping.

In the mountains of Utah, you either think of dessert or mountains.
I've never thought of marsh land.
But,
there it is,
between Logan and Tremonton,
what I consider beautiful marsh land.

The day I was there there were beautiful reflections, mountains, marsh grass and a beautiful sky.
All things I love to paint.

This painting can be seen in River Run Gallery

No Guts - No Glory

No Guts - No Glory

Student art has been coming into River Run Gallery all week.

Students that have painted in the gallery are stepping up,
taking that great leap of faith,
getting their brave one
and several other sayings I won't mention
and are ready to raise some money for a local charity.

It is one thing to come to a class with a few people you may or may not know,
and paint and show them,
but it's entirely different to walk your art into a gallery and hang it on the wall.

It is: unnerving,
scary
terrifying,
make ya sick at your stomach nervous

But they did it to help raise money.

We are raising funds for Carroll County Animal Support (CCAS)
a local support group here in the county that takes care of animals as they try to find homes for dogs and cats,
pays vet bills for some animals
offer snip clinics,
and buy food.
They need lots of pet food.

So there you have it folks!
You're invited to our opening,
Thursday, March 12, 6-8 p.m.
to vote for your favorite artist or art hanging in the gallery.

You vote by putting your cold hard cash in a cup with the corresponding number with your favorite painting.

All the money goes to CCAS and the highest money raisers in the adult and the childrens categories will each receive 5 tubes of acrylic paint.
Second place winners will each receive a gift certificate for a free class.

You don't want to miss this gala event
Benny's Barkery will be here giving away samples and information of his soon to be world famous dog biscuits,

and I'm sure there will be something given away,

Cause I just can't help myself.

Please join us!
