New Artist - Yvonne Powell

Yvonne Powell 

is our newest artist.

Congratulations Yvonne for joining River Run Gallery Fun Art Studio.

  Yvonne's art is very interesting,

but all the art in River Run Gallery is interesting,

I think.

Her art begins with her photography that is digitally enhanced.

Then she mounts to photo either on a gallery wrap hard board or

hard board she will use as covers for her hand crafted journals.

They are then encased in encaustic wax.

The photographs that are going to either stand or hang on their own, 

are complete at this point.

But she also makes journals is several sizes and they begin with part of the photo on the front of the journal and part of it on the back.  Then both pieces are also encased in the wax.

Then Yvonne hand tears the interior pages of medium weight mixed medium paper.

The signatures are then hand sewn with waxed linen thread using a coptic stitch.

The journal can be opened to lay or stand flat so it looks like the piece of art it is.

This is Yvonne's current selection of journals.

They range in price from $35 to $55 each.

 The top shelf has one small journal in the center,

and two of her encaustic photographs on each side.

 They can hang or stand on their own.

 

This journal is open and stands on its own.

You're looking at the front and the back of the journal.

These would make a great gift to anyone who loves to journal,

sketch, water color journal, or any number of other uses.

They are truly a one of a kind item.
